Gusset Erratum
The first printing neglected to indicate that the gusset stitches should be placed on a stitch holder after
working the gusset and before picking up stitches along each side of the gusset.
Sleeve Adjustment
Several knitters have reported that they would prefer less ease in the upper arms. To reduce the ease in the arm
at the shoulder, make the following modifications:
- Omit the increases on the last 20 sleeve rows, which will produce 8 fewer sts in the sleeve, which is just over
an inch. You will still work these 20 rows — just without the increases.
- Work 6 more side gusset rows.
- Pick-up 4 more sts at the beginning and 4 more sts at the end of the first row of each side.
To reduce the ease in the arm at the shoulder by two inches, make the following modifications:
- Omit the increases on the last 40 sleeve rows, which will produce 16 fewer sts in the sleeve, which is just over
two inches. You will still work these 40 rows — just without the increases.
- Work 12 more side gusset rows.
- Pick-up 8 more sts at the beginning and 8 more sts at the end of the first row of each side.
